I like this post. Although I can’t agree with you on A-packets. They turn out to be super helpful in telling when Eisenstein series (or really, CAP representations) appear in cuspidal cohomology, and this is moreover helpful for p-adically deforming them. That’s why I appreciate them at least.

Saying you appreciate L-packets but not endoscopy is like saying you appreciate mashed potato but not butter.

Fair enough. Maybe I’m vegan in these matters. To be clear, I do hope to appreciate all these things some day.
